Most faux flowers arrive as loose stems and a problem. This comes already set in its pot, balanced and top-dressed, so the decision is where to stand it rather than how to build it.

The pot is part of the product

Glazed ceramic in a neutral tone, weighted at the base so it does not tip when the blooms lean. Cheap faux arrangements use a light plastic pot and topple the first time a door slams.

Reads correctly from a metre away

Which is the distance that matters. Nobody inspects a shelf arrangement at close range, and the blooms, foliage and moss dressing are colour-matched to sit together the way a real plant would.

For the shelf you keep killing things on

Bathrooms, hallways, north-facing corners, the top of a bookcase. Anywhere with too little light for the real thing, which in most flats is most of the flat.
